Jad is the co-founder and managing partner of Phoenician VC, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the MENA region. Since its inception in 2016, the firm primarily focuses on investing and partnering with exceptional entrepreneurs in fintech and other disruptive sectors. He led the buildup of a 20+ companies’ portfolio as part of the firm’s investment activities and realized three successful exits in the region so far.
Jad has more than 15 years of experience in venture capital investing, consulting, and investment banking. Prior to co-founding Phoenician, he has worked across the globe including the GCC, Turkey, Levant, North Africa and SouthEast Asia, holding roles with McKinsey & Company, Booz & Co., and J.P. Morgan.
During this time, he advised more than 15 financial institutions (SWFs, financial institutions, banks, regulators) on strategy design and execution, digitization, launching new ventures, international expansion, operating model and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and debt capital markets.
Jad holds a Master’s Degree from ESCP Europe and a Bachelor’s Degree from the American University of Beirut.
