H.E. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail

Majed bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Hogail was appointed as a Minister of Housing by a royal decree in July 2015.

On 25th of February 2020, a royal decree was issued to assign him as a Minister of Municipality and Rural Affairs in addition to his current mandate as Minister of Housing.

On 24th of January 2021, His Excellency was assigned to be the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, after the merging of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Housing by royal decree.

Over 24 years, H.E. Al-Hogail has held several senior positions as a Board Member, Chairman and CEO of national and international companies and NGOs operating in various business sectors, including real estate development, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), banking and insurance. He has worked with companies such as AlSafi- Danone Ltd., Makshaff Service Ltd., Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), Bank Aljazira, Wafa Insurance, Aljazira Capital, NAS Airline Holding JSC, Credit Suisse Saudi Arabia, Rafal Realestate Development Co., Burj Rafal Real Estate Development Co., Saudi Arbitration Center, and Riyadh Chamber of Commerce.

H.E. Al-Hogail holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, USA at Urbana-Champaign obtained in 1988, an EDP in Business Administration and Management from IMD Business School in 2007, as well as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification obtained in 1999 from New Mexico Public Accountancy Board.

H.E. Al-Hogail, who has extensive experience in real estate development, portfolio management, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and financing, is working to clear the roadblocks that prevented Saudi Arabia from realizing its homebuilding vision by taking an unprecedented role in housing finance and development to build more than a million homes and make ownership more affordable.
